For me the WORST internalized misandry is those dads who threaten boys who are dating their daughters. The worst of the worst are the ones that bring out a gun in order to inflict mental trauma on the boy.

It's indefensible. They're not protecting anybody, they're fantasizing a catastrophe based on anti-male stereotypes and then inflicting actual harm on boys. If anybody were to do that to my son I would tell my lawyer to be evil and ruthless towards them.

I am very skeptical of any claim about "internalized" bigotry or discrimination of any kind. At least, as that term is commonly used on social media. It seems to imply that people are helpless, even as adults, in conforming to some flawed ideology. We all have the ability to evaluate our lives and change our behavior.

People don't hide their sexism against men. They even celebrate it.

This I like to answer in the reasons more than the example of it, but best case is murder and assult going back to civility duels over keeping a woman's honor and retribution for just a claim of sexual assult by another man. Now the reasons for misandry in men, it reduces the competition for a better chance of having a wife/girlfriend who isn't damaged by an evil man, that ruined her for you, which for the majority are before an acceptable age of marriage. They hate other men for taking what they want and would have treated better and cherish more, feel wronged by these men and hate them for it.

But also in the case of fathers and brothers, they empathize more with the sister or daughter, mostly the emotional response of hated for a man who wronged her, to the logical reprocussions of her ability to marry a great man that values her.
