I'm a stay-at-home mom and my husband is not a sentimental man. I often make treats for him to take to work. I did stash money away for about a year and a half, so he could get an 86" TV for his birthday this year.

In general, though, I think he'd say what he appreciates most is that he comes home to a genuinely clean home every day. Four kids under four and this house is never a wreck. I grew up in a semi-hoarder home, so I can't handle the chaos, myself. It makes our lives a lot easier, but he really appreciates coming home to order. He's not really words of affirmation guy, but he's commented to friends about what a good housekeeper I am, so I know it makes a big difference.

I love to make little crafts, cards, bracelets, or notes for my boyfriend. I think they serve as little reminders that I am always thinking about him! A handmade birthday card would be a great touch!

My boyfriend always says he “doesn’t care” about his birthday, yet I know he secretly loves the extra attention. So I make a big fuss over him, of course!

This year, he was having a pretty rough go around that time, and I knew he desperately needed a break from the issues and stress he had been dealing with, so I surprised him with a weekend away. Nothing too fancy, but I planned it thoroughly and put a lot of thought into it. He loved it.

Truly, when it comes to men, I believe that it’s the thought that counts. If you go even slightly out of your way to let him know how much he means to you, or to make him feel more masculine, I think it goes a long way. Your idea is perfect!

What would he do with the sunflower? Usually, the first day in a man’s life that he receives flowers is at his funeral. We are perfectly OK with that.

Would he enjoy having a brunch? I would not necessarily be opposed to that provided. There was a beginning, a middle, and an end, but what about your man? I mean it sounds like that’s already on the table and invites sent out, but that’s the kind of thing you need to be thinking about.

Full text: hey everyone, my wonderful boyfriend's birthday is coming up this sunday and I was wondering: what do you ladies usually do for your partner on his big day??

I planned on baking him a carrot cake (his favorite), some mini cheesecakes, get him a sunflower (i feel like one flower is cute, what do you think? he's the type to appreciate the gesture i hope) and ofc his presents. and during the day his family and friends will come over to his place for brunch (where i'll be meeting his mom for the first time!!), so there'll be lots of stuff to do, where i could help out. aside from that, i would treat him to a massage/ be extra attentive. i'm sure he'll be socially exhausted after seeing all those people and has to work in the morning, so i would also offer to give him space to decompress.

hope it will all go well! he was also so, so great to me during my birthday so he deserves to feel like a king.
