Sup fellas. Don't know if this belongs here or not but I thought I'd give it a whirl. I've been lurking here for about a week or so and I'm trying to swallow the pill, but the truth is, I'm not sure where to start. This all seems overwhelming, and I guess that's why it's called "swallowing the pill"... Obviously the first thing to do is to start working out and get into shape, but there's a problem:

I don't drive (revoked license) so I can't get to a gym and I really don't want to pay a cab to take me to the gym every day. It would be way too expensive. I don't have friends that work out so I can't hitch a ride with them. None of them are really interested and the only one that is, doesn't drive also and lives 45 minutes away.

So with that, I can't exactly get to a grocery store to change up my diet. Sure, I can order online and have it delivered, but I wouldn't even know where to begin on changing my diet. I've been accustomed to eating shit my whole life. I'm not fat. I'm 5'6 and probably 150-160 pounds, and all the weight is in my beer gut from drinking since I was a teenager and (obviously) not eating right.. but that's it. The rest of my body is pretty skinny, it's just my gut.

I've been on a pizza/chinese food diet for dinner over the last few months because I hadn't taken much interest in cooking pasta and salmon every night. Normally for lunch it's anything and everything. McDonalds, diners, steak, pasta, sandwiches, whatever. Breakfast is usually cereal or a buttered bagel or something.

So, how exactly do I go about changing all of this? How can I work out from home? I live in a small 1-bedroom apartment so I'd assume that doing push ups is a start, but I can't see that helping me build up.

What would you guys recommend on how exactly to start living this way? I've been reading and I'm really enjoying what I read, but I'm not sure at all how to go from sitting on r/theredpill and reading to actually beginning the lifestyle. My biggest problem, at least that I see right now, is that I can't drive anywhere. It's going to be like that for a long time. I tried to read into the sidebar for information, but I don't really see much in terms of getting started and what to do.
