As a guy, I find it interesting how the expectation of suitability and burden is placed higher on men compared to women. In the dating scene, women have a whole checklist of what a man must be; must make a certain income, height, career, personality, looks etc. but men don't really do that as long as the woman is physically attractive with a somewhat decent personality. It is backed by evolutionary psychology and historical reasons. So I think men should raise their standards and stop obsessing over women who will instantly reject in a heartbeat because of the criteria that they have. You think that attractive influencer girl on Instagram who's getting 100s of DMs daily cares about you?

In this day and age with more competition, it's not uncommon for people to have several options lined up and talking to multiple people at once, and if you cannot meet their needs then it's just wasting time. It's a numbers game. It's going to save a lot of people from heartbreaks, miscommunication, and unrequited love. It amazes me how shallow and materialistic some people can be and this is the harsh reality that personality or good looks alone cannot compensate for other contributing factors.
