The claim is that when men express anger that people respect him and when women express anger people place labels on her.

This is at odds with my personal experience, and this study seems to verify this.

There used to be the verb "to bitch," meaning to complain. It has fallen out of usage for being a gendered pejorative term.

But consider that society doesn't really tolerate complaints from men (look at how male centric spaces like mensrights and LWMA, which partially exist to express social grievances, are received by most people). Now contrast that with the way a megaphone constantly gets held up to complaints made by women... Even over ridiculously small or fake things like "mansplaining" or "manspreading." It turns out that complaining, or the social acceptability of complaining, apparently DOES have a majorly gendered skew.

The verb "to bitch" isn't great, but deleting it from the language seems to have obscured a gender difference that exists whether we delete the relevant terms from the english language or not.
