Have any of you sought help for alcohol abuse in a way that you found successful? I'm not the type of alcoholic who craves drinks all the time - in fact I frequently go 3-5 days sober - but I'm in a career (sales) that basically requires me to entertain clients who like to drink. I'm also the type of guy that can let a Thursday night out with clients quickly escalate to the point of no return only to wake up Sunday about 100 beers (and sometimes an 8-ball) later, both with friends and/or alone. I can't keep this up. It's totally tanking my goals and I'm having difficulty changing on my own.

Have any of you had to confront your challenges with alcohol while single, living alone, and/or in a profession which requires you to entertain (for me, all three)?

I have seen two different therapists who were basically the definition of soft, effeminate beta men. Nothing against them, but I just knew they weren't from the same of thinking as this community.

Any help appreciated brothers.
