This topic is slightly has to do with hatred and prejudice against men as the man is not valued in this scenario.
Long story short, a year ago I was watching a video talking about what men shouldn’t say when their wife is giving birth to their baby. Personally, I think that the man should be supportive of the wife since she is in a lot of pain during the long procedure. However, the comments are what bothers me because it is full of misandry, because the video showed that the man is being rude since he is in discomfort. Yes, if you are uncomfortable, that depends on the level of discomfort you have, but if it’s a minor discomfort, the best thing you can do is to hold it in for a while and try to ignore it. But if it’s a serious issue, like a heart attack, you deserve equal attention as the wife who is giving birth.
One user by the name of Risad said “As a father of five, if you are uncomfortable when your wife is giving birth, stfu and deal with it. Lol.”
Classic misandry of course. Guess what? Approximately 100K likes, and that was a year ago, so it has most likely reached around 200 to 300K likes on the comment.
Another comment that I don’t remember, has a reply section that is full of shit as well. One comment said that: “unless the man’s life is in danger like a heart attack, nothing matters.” Which is something that I agree with. It got around 2K likes. But another comment that said: “Some doctors or nurses might not even care. They would just focus on delivering the baby XD.” And it got MORE likes than the former comment. Needless to say the other comment that I mentioned got ratioed.
Another reply that said: “Any real person/man would know that the mother and the baby is more important than the father.”
Yes. UNLESS the father’s life is also in danger, like a heart attack or something.
I commented this on another comment, and I told ratioed by being told to stfu and that I was being ignorant. Multiple people shamed me for having a different opinion.
Someone told me that: “they didn’t mentioned that the father was getting a heart attack so stfu with the ignorance.”
Yes, I was just making an assumption. Nigga what’s your problem man?
I said I wasn’t being ignorant, and another guy came to me and told on me that I WAS being ignorant. I said I wasn’t again.
In opinion, would the mother and kid be in danger if we send one or two nurses to help the father if his life is also in danger? No. Does the father deserve attention in the birthing room? Yes. And that depends as well.
Another problem is that when the mother is in pain, everyone seems to have empathy for her, but when the father is in pain, people tend to laugh, mock and make jokes about him. (Both are in the birthing room)
What do you think of this? Sorry for the long post btw. I would like to hear your opinion on this.
