So first of all, here we are, with comments full of "white knights" (Idk if I used the phrase correctly in this context) who condones male disposability with thousands of likes on their comment, while I tried to voice my opinion, and got zero visibility, because of the stupid algorithm that youtube has.
Firstly, on 9th of July 2020, a six year old boy Bridger Walker saved his little sister from the dog attack. He had 90 stitches all over his body, but saved his three year old sister from a certain death. He stated "If anyone has to die, it's me. I'm the big brother." The World Boxing Council recognized him as a full-time world champion.
Now, I think this kid shouldn't be laid absolute highest respect for what he did, because he really did a heroic act, but here is the problem.
This one comment that really triggered said something that I don't think most users on this subreddit would agree, although if I'm wrong, I'm more than willing to hear your opinion, since this is a much more open minded place to talk about men and boys and issues relating to them.
The comment said:
"When he is more of a man than many men."
22K likes and counting.
Whilst I commented publicly, not on the replies:
"This kid deserves all the love from the world, but just because he nearly died to protect someone doesn't mean he is more of a man than other adults. Being a man doesn't mean you have to be disposable."
I don't expect my comment to be recognized by a single person since the youtbur algorithm hates me, but I want you guys to tell me, is this what being a man really means? Do we really need to be disposable to "be" more of a man than many other men?
Because in my opjnion, choosing not to be disposable doesn't make you any less of a man. Remember that. I have nothing against this kid, but when you insult men who are not disposable and choose not ot be one, you are the coward.
What do you guys think? Act like this comment and post isn't a ragebait even if it is and tell me about what you guys think. I would like to hear your opinions on this take.
