while i know i post about this topic to the point of absurdity i have seen some disturbing post from intactivist that seem to imply circumcision is not declining in america and why i think circumcision rates are declining significantly and why i choose to believe so.

if during the course of this sad life i see very little other social change i do hope i live to see circumcision become so rare almost nobody is circumcised and maybe even be eventually outlawed in this country.

In my experience, die-hard "Intactivists" have never had a particularly strong relationship with the truth.

They exaggerate some of their claims (such as this one you've brought up) to try and make their points hit harder.

They also deny any man's experiences who says he hasn't had any issues with his own circumcision. Yes, believe it or not there are plenty of men out there who are happy with their circumcised penises, get enough pleasure from them, have no aesthetic issues like skin bridges or excess scarring, their partners enjoy it, and they're able to have satisfying sex lives. If there weren't, the practice would have died out a long time ago. I am one of those people who, after a lot of thinking through the "trauma" I'm supposed to have suffered as an infant and even experimenting with foreskin restoration, decided that I love my circumcised penis the way it is. But I've been told in no uncertain terms that I am denying reality or delusional.

However, I believe they mean well. Just like all activist groups, they're willing to bend the truth for their goals whereas, personally, I believe the truth should stand on its own and in the case of circumcision is more than enough to do so. No one should have any part of their body forcibly removed without their consent, no matter the potential benefits or even if they grow up to be glad they're circumcised or would have gotten it done themself as an adult anyway. That doesn't change the fact that routine infant circumcision (RIC) is non-consensual interference with someone else's genitals.

So my point is, Intactivists are probably exaggerating the claims that circumcision in America is on the rise again in order to stir panic and action among their comrades. In reality, the best route to go down is to keep trying to convince the authorities there is no difference between male circumcision and female genital mutilation.

It trending downwards means it will be outlawed soon enough. It starts with becoming unpopular. Then once it's unpopular enough, it can be outlawed because the resistance will be small enough to simply ignore.
