After a few years of being fairly settled, my ex has decided to tell the child support service that our arrangements (I have kids every other weekend) have changed and I no longer have them which isn’t true. I’m going to have to try to sort it out but it will mean having to get embroiled in the whole shit show and a period of uncertainty. The system in the UK is simply to take whatever the primary carer says at face value so the onus is on me to convince them she’s lying. I’ve been in a good place for a long time but this situation just reminds me that my ex can still cause me difficulties whenever she chooses (and will be able to for the foreseeable) and there’s literally nothing I can do to truly move on until she no longer has this hold over me when my youngest (now 15) turns 18. How do you guys cope with the rug being pulled from you just when you think you’re back on track?
