I was recently drinking with a long time female friend of mine who I know quite well. She has just begun seeing a new guy and i realised that as long as I have known her... She's never really been single.

All of her relationships over the last 10 or more years have been LTR lasting from months to years. There seems to be little down time between them. For example, she was with a guy for 1.5 years, they broke up earlier this year, a month later she was seeing a new guy which lasted only a few weeks and a month after that she's in a relationship again. Serial monogamist.

Looking back, she's just repeated the cycle over and over, usually with orbiter types who stand in the shadows waiting for their turn. Each time it's the same story... Their online profiles are littered with photos and mushy shit, it's all very public... And as soon as it's over, all traces of the guy is deleted and repeated with a new one.

Her new man, however, shares a similar characteristic. He too jumps from one relationship to the next and declares his "love" within weeks in very public fashion, even referring to his last GF as "soul mate" on her wall. LOL. (This was just 2 months ago too and he's been dating my friend for 6 weeks).

My questions are:

Is this the same as riding the CC?

Is serial monogamy a red flag to you?

What happens when 2 serial Monogamists do this?

Any thoughts?
