Telling yoruself no girl is good enough to approach is a defensive mechanism to protect yourself.

It makes sense in theory, why bother hitting on a girl u don't like huh? But let’s be real, that “standard” is often just fear in disguise, dressed up as self-respect.

Telling yuorself “no girl is good enough to approach” sounds noble, like u’ve got high standards. But if you dig deeper, it’s usually just a clever way of saying: I’m scared of being rejected, so I’ll reject her first, in my head.

Sure, it makes sense to not waste time on someone you’re not attracted to. That’s healthy. But when u do see someone you like and still come up with reasons not to go for it, that’s not standards, that’s self-sabotage wrapped in ego.

It’s like refusing to play the game because u might lose, and then convincing yourself the prize wasn’t worth it anyway because u r better than that.

The truth is you don’t avoid her because she’s “not good enough"... You avoid her because u r scared she won’t think you are.

And until u admit that, no “high standards” talk will set u free, because u’re not protecting your value, u r protecting your comfort zone. It’s not that she’s not worth it. It’s that deep down, u r afraid of stepping into a moment where things get real, where you might feel exposed, vulnerable, or challenged.

So instead of owning that fear, u wrap it in fake superiority.

But this game isn’t about proving yourself to anyone. It’s about showing up as u are unapologetically, and seeing who resonates without treating rejection as something you interpret of your worth, but as a lack of connection. Not to win. Just to stop hiding.

Now, i know this will not get you over the fear, beacause this is just one excuse you use. When u are this afraid, there is problems with anxiety and not just ego. The what if worst case scenarios list can be enormous, and requires going throughveach to overcome them. But at least this comment will force u to reflect more on what you really are afraid of.

Fear of a bad reaction, fear of upsetting her, fear of bothering her, fear of being lauhed at, fear of being despised by her, fear of a bad look from her, fear of being ridiculed, fear making her scared, fear of being reprimanded or scolded, fear of getting your hopes up only to be extremely dissapointed and deprresed, doubting yourself, questioning whether you are good enough for women like them.... etc
