To clarify my situation and title, I have recently gotten into an argument concerning the price of a guitar with an Alpha friend. I have come to believe he is trying to manipulate to argument to bring out the chump in me, and put himself in a position where he is in control of the situation. I personally feel like I've been wronged, but he has washed his hands of blame. To him, its my fault events unfolded the way they did.

In 2011, I let him borrow my new guitar. He never gave it back, but it came up in conversation, but it was never given back. Last time I saw it was on August 1st of 2015, It was in a horrible condition. It was rusted and torn up. He let it die on me. Last time I asked about it was September 22nd 2015, his response was he would find it for me. I asked about it once more on October 20th, he told me his mother sold it to a local music store that I had happened to have bought the guitar from back in 2011, he also told me that the guitar had been sold so there is no way to get it back. He even mentioned that she sold it over a year ago, and this is where I caught him in a lie. How could that have been possible if I had seen it 2 months ago?

Anyway, this resulted in me wanting compensation for this guitar since it was not a cheap instrument. His retaliations to my seeking full compensation consisted of calling my guitar rusted junk even when I gave it to him. Like I said the guitar was brand new and a beauty when I had it, it rusted and became a hunk of junk in his possession, but he won't accept that fault. I ended up called the music shop to explain my peculiar case. The store owner then told that the guitar was never sold to them, the serial number would have shown up in their data base. I remained calm though out the entire argument and time spent digging.

At the moment I'm not very sure how to handle this situation. He's lying to me, and I feel like I need to call his bullshit. How do I find out the truth, or is there a probability that I will never find out, and the guitar is gone forever and he's able to get off scotch free. I think this is the out come he hopes for. The outcome I want is that of compensation for my lost property that I entrusted to him.

Since my time here has introduced me to certain concepts about social roles within society and how its a game where everyone is trying to benefit themselves, my mate wants this situation to work to his favor, which would leave me in an unfavorable situation. I don't want to "lose" this event, and have even considered taking it to court but aye, who knows.
