Love how many are pointing out the role reversal bias. Who he slept with 6 months before meeting his GF is irrelevant, he didnt owe his GF fidelity 6 months before he started going out with her.

Unless the GF is going to exclusively date virgins, she needs to accept that the men she dates are going to have had past sexusl encounters... if she csnt accept that without "needing time to process", then shes too emotionally immature to be in a relationship.

I have complicated feelings on this. Clearly OP did nothing wrong, but I generally agree with the comments saying it makes sense for his girlfriend to be uncomfortable. Inevitably people are going to have insecurities about partners’ sexual histories; if you really love someone, the goal ought to be to overcome those insecurities though and to recognize that your unhealthy instincts shouldn’t ruin a good relationship.

However, I’d still stand by all those things even if the genders were reversed. We all know damn well most of Reddit would feel differently. There’s a tendency to expect men to have no instincts whatsoever that might lead to complications in their romantic lives. These kinds of reactions are human regardless of sex.

Tl;dr he did nothing wrong, but it’s fair that she might have insecurities to overcome. The same would be true regardless of either party’s sex, even though some people have clear double standards.
