To keep a long story short, I started talking up this girl at an event we were both at. It was going fairly well, good conversation, a little bit of teasing and flirting, she'd walk away for a bit to use the restroom or talk to her friend there but we'd link back up.
Throughout the night there was a little bit of touching, legs and feet touching while we would sit together and nobody moved, later when we were standing together we were pretty close, bumping and brushing, again she didn't react poorly to that. A little later I figured it was time to go a little bolder, and basically as we were moving around a bit I wrapped my arm gently around her and guided her a bit, kind of hard to explain the circumstance but it felt appropriate... and I certainly didn't hang off her or anything like that, just a quick escalation.
She didn't run away immediately, nor did we stop standing pretty close to each other but eventually she left never to be seen again and ghosted my text. I'm not upset, and it might not have even been the touching, and I really hope I didn't make her uncomfortable despite the small spark/interest that clearly was there to start with.
Do you think I escalated too much too soon?
