I don’t really see why men should have to change their routes to accomodate me specifically- if I’m walking home somewhere, and see a man, chances are that man is probably just walking to wherever he needs to be too… same as a woman would be.

Yes I understand we don’t know who’s dangerous or not just from looking at them… but that’s the same for both men and women….

There’s no videos for like that where it’s “if you’re a man walking behind a man at night” or “if you’re a woman walking behind a woman at night”- and to be honest, it’s just playing into the stereotype that men should always be the protectors and women should always be the protected party. Both sexes have the right to feel safe. But the overwhelming majority of the time, a man walking near you, will not be out to hurt you…

Plus we live in a world where self-identification is commonplace now- people identifying as non-binary etc so in that case how do these people even know who’s a man and who’s a woman just from looking at them? Somebody they perceived as a man could be a masc-presenting woman. Somebody they perceive as a woman could be a femme presenting man such as a drag queen. Or somebody might be trans and these people will be misgendering them.
