Whether you’re red pill, blue pill, etc I’m sure we can all agree that sexism persists in society in some way shape or form to this day. Of course, there’s the arguments over the extent of that sexism, whether or not men also face sexism, or whatever else, but again, I’m sure we can all agree it exists in some fashion.

I personally think a big reason for this is that, in my experience, men can often shame other men for looking up to women as their heroes, or having them be a source of inspiration or role model in some way.

I feel like you don’t see the same when women list men as their role models. Like women basketball players talk about how they idolize figures like Michael Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Kevin Durant, and more all the time. Or women musicians talking about famous men artists and bands throughout history, ranging from the Beatles to Nirvana to Radiohead, and expressing their admiration for them. Or women talking about how they love superheroes like black panther or iron man.

But it doesn’t seem as “cool” for men to talk about how they may look up to or be inspired by women. And they might even be shamed for it, being seen as weaker or softer, especially if the woman they’re talking about presents themselves a certain way. Like if you love Black Widow, but because she’s a badass, not just because she’s played by a hot woman in scarlet Johansson. Or if you love Rihanna but because you really enjoy her music not just her physical features. And that’s not to say you can’t recognize how incredibly beautiful those women are I’m just saying you see them for more than that.

I see all this talk about how the left needs a Joe Rogan type or how democrats need some powerful man (probably a white man) to get men on their side. But I’m just thinking why does it have to be a man? Not saying that it isn’t important at all to have people that you can look up to, who look like you or come from a similar background. But I don’t think it needs to be limited to that. I don’t see why men and women can’t look up to both men and women.

I think men need to do a better job in this regard.
