Yeah, harassment and suicide-baiting happen over ships and are by overwhelming majority committed by women. It is not even a little bit close. The most toxic fans are young progressive women, and the toxicity of a fandom is directly proportional to how much its audience overlaps with the category "young progressive woman."

This person literally thinks that bad things are by definition done by men. And the fact that she thinks "ships" are a problem independent of "people getting harassed over ships" and thinks fandom involves "cp" (underage art and fics do not harm anyone, get over yourself) shows that she is almost certainly part of the problem.

The fandoms actual problems when dominated by women: harassment, slurs, death threats (this is only anecdotal but, refer to PJSK)

Another example: sexual harassment/SA, attempted stalking (refer to dark romance booktok)

Idk if this was intentional but I read this as how media especially gaming stuff happens,as in if it's like idk older games that involve attractive women or even women showing skin,or dudes for that matter,it's labeled all those things,if it isn't?it ships,

There's plenty of misandry in fandoms dominated by women, it's just not recognized/identified properly. There's plenty of racism, heightism and other forms of prejudices when it comes to fandoms dominated by women too, it also just doesn't get recognized as such because of this "girls will be girls" effect and "it's not racist/prejudice if it's personal preference" rationalization. It's all just presented differently.

Do they forget that women can be proshippers too or hell there are existing groomers in any fandoms and harass and dox anyone over ships, I'm not denying male fans can be toxic in my experience but women can just be as bad as men in any fandoms. Do I even need to bring up how Yaoi Stans most especially women that don't hide their homophobia, misogyny and misandry or even transphobia in the fandom? Can we stop whitewashing fandoms that deny accountability? I'm sick and tired of it.
