You have to realize, projection and ignorance are very large factors at play.

Was talking to a lovely young woman the other day, and completely out of the blue she starts in on how we need more women in government because stupid old white men and the patriarchy are ruining everything, they need to all be eliminated but "idk I don't care about politics."

I'd be considered the extremist for weighing the pros and cons and quietly voting for a guy she is blanket intolerant of, meanwhile she doesn't even live in the same country as the monsters she claim are responsible for every bad decision she's ever made and somehow has downright violent and murderous opinions about people like me with views she disagrees with, but she's apolitical y'know teehee, besides everyone (who went to college) knows she's right.
