I was socially and physically awkward since childhood. But by working out, spending time in the military, traveling the world, taking cold showers, and forcing myself to be uncomfortable in any way that seemed like it would work, I've mostly overcome these problems.

There's one thing I still have problems with, though. That's walking. I just can't seem to do it without being awkward; I hope someone can give me some advice here.

Let me give some examples. I'm walking without my sunglasses, and a car comes my way. I don't want to look down, I don't want to look them in the eye, and I don't want to pretend like I don't notice them because then I get this weird 500 yard stare. This is beta thinking for sure, not sure why it exists. How can I eliminate it?

Another example. I'm from the west, but now I live in a second world country. Many makeup caked women here walking awkwardly on high heels will not look at me on the street, as if they assume that everyone should move out of their way. That annoys me, and I either end up zipping around them like a spaz, to avoid them at the last second, or ramming them with my shoulder to "teach them a lesson", which is not cool.

Same for guys. Some guys don't seem to want to share the sidewalk. I end up ramming them, or dodging at the last second.

There must be an underlying cause here. My first example is different than the second and third, so there's probably more than one underlying cause.

What do you do, if a stuck up girl or jackass guy won't share the sidewalk? Surely I'm not the only one who experiences this.
