Because the Women are wonderful effect is still a thing. And a dude will always be seen as the guilty party in any situation. r/aitah is proof enough of this, it's incredibly biased against men.

Hell, I have been abused by my mother since I was 8, and when I talked about it, some people (especially women) foind a day to tell me it was somehow my fault if I was abused.

it's crazy you wrote this whole thing with the internal bias to paint yourself in a good light and it still sounds rude. makes me wonder what the actual full story is.

why are they judging him based on something that nearly every narrator on aita does? Of course the narrator of the story is biased, your job is to look at any contradictions instead of speculating that the story is fake

also, why would OP fake the story in that way? If op were to be some kind of super-misogynist (a very common allegation in response to "fake" AITA posts written by a dude) wouldn't he want to make his gf look even more evil, like cheat/lie/steal type of evil? The most evil thing that she did was yell at him once for not having sex lol, and even then she took that comment back the next day. This story seems weirdly banal and makes both parties look flawed and human, even if it portrayed OP a bit more sympathetically than what the average AITA reader would like
