First off, there is a lot of research that shows men and boys' contributions to caregiving and chores, and their burdens are overlooked. Secondly, more people are distancing themselves from their parents in general. Genders irrelevant. Thirdly, caregiving and household chores are not the only kind of work that are burdensome. Not only do men dominate in very dangerous jobs (construction, for example), but they are 9 out of 10 of those who die in workplaces, often due to working long hours. So women aren't special here.
