Hi, hope it's cool to ask a few questions!
Bit of background on me: as a little kid (pre-puberty), I was fairly tomboyish and liked to build model tanks and planes. Starting in my teen years, I felt awkward engaging in performative femininity and presented in a masc way. I was more attracted to women than to men and ID'd as lesbian.
In my early 20s, I learned that I had a hormone imbalance and started treating it. After I did that, my attraction to women faded and my attraction to men greatly increased. This was not an instant process. It happened over a period of months. It isn't a common experience, but it sometimes happens.
I would deeply appreciate help with these issues:
When should I tell men about my previous preferences / sexual history? I don't want men to think that I'm interested in threesomes, being someone's bi third wheel, etc.
I have dated one man (we met last year) and I found him attractive, intelligent, and easy to respect. However, I got defensive about certain things and we had a blow up over something he said on Reddit. In hindsight, I can see his perspective & I wish I'd handled it differently. I'd like to date him again, but I have no idea how to let him know its okay to pursue me. Any ideas on how to do that? I'd like to at least explore the possibility of dating him again.
How does a somewhat masc / tomboyish presentation impact SMV? I'm trying to wear brighter colors, but I still tend to wear jeans + jacket + have a pixie cut. It'd be fair to say that I look a bit like this: https://www.newamericanjackets.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/2019-Action-Movie-Charlies-Angels-Kristen-Stewart-Jacket-600x800.jpg
If the man is the Captain and I'm his First Mate, does that mean I assist him in any task assigned to me? Like if he says he wants help with his business should I go to work for him?
In my two LTRs (both with women) I was expected to be the de facto leader and simultenously be as emotionally supportive and empathic as a female friend. This was extremely difficult. How, in a relationship with a man, do you let him be the leader? Do you talk openly about this stuff?
I hope this makes sense & appreciate any thoughts!
