I've been happily divorced for 7 years but have pain every time she takes money out of my pocket. She's worked at the same job for 8+ years, makes good money, lives with her elderly step dad for free (Claimed she pays rent during the divorce), paid off and sold her Jeep that was awarded to her and paid off her new car and she's padded her retirement very well. We have an agreement that when her stepdad passes that she'll release me from alimony because she's going to inherent his $1M house, retirement funds and items. If she doesn't I was planning on taking her back anyways when that happens. My son told after a visit to her that she plans on retiring in a year under disability, she's 54 and living off my money afterwards. She's capable of working and I think that the Gavron warning would be perfect to use in that scenario.

She's in Orange County, Ca and I'm in Texas with our 2 sons.

I'm wondering what my success rate would be taking her back and getting her alimony reduced based on need and setting a schedule for reduction. I've heard that OC courts are very biased towards the woman's plight.
