I've had 2-3 situations that got BAD.

Here's what I would do. Try to reasonably ghost them. DOCUMENT this process and you might want to TELL the person that you're going no contact.

This isn't for them, it's for the judge.

A judge likes to see a paper trail plus the fact that you're being respectful to her.

Then if they violate your wishes, assume it's not going away.

That was my mistake last time. I assumed it was just going to magically go away - but it didn't.

For some people the more you pull back the more furious they get and they can't control their emotions. So they just keep coming.

My first stalker, actually reached out to my GF at the time during an early/sensitive part of our relationship and could have destroyed it.

Fortunately, she came across like a lunatic in the email and my GF didn't read it at the time.

She had a daughter and said HORRIBLE things about me so I was worried she's leave me just for this reason alone.

Obviously, these things weren't true.

Women can be horrible and viscious..

In New York I asked the cops for a restraining order against a violent cockblocking female relative. They said I had to go in person to the county family court and file a complaint. Then there would be a trial/hearing.

But my situation is worse than yours because she worked for the government so only got in trouble once. It's not extreme to sue or apply for an order of protection if the criminal has smeared to the police about you or done significant physical damage. Be prepared for them to retaliate against you for being assertive.
