Cold approach

You need a general framework for cold approaching. Here's my approach:

Walk up to her and tell her, in a genuine tone of voice, that you think she's cute.
Ask for her name, and if she asks for your's, that's a good sign.
Acknowledge her reality (any your's) by letting her know that you won't take too much of her time and that you've got to get going.
Get her to qualify herself to you (very important). Ask her what she does, what she's passionate about, and follow up with questions that elicit positive emotions (e.g. how does that make you feel, what do you like about it, etc.)
Again, acknowledge the reality and tell her you need to get going and that it was nice meeting her.
~~Ask~~ Tell her you want her #.

The entire sequence should take no more than 5-10 minutes.

Am also finding it hard (I'm new to this), but I find it easier to practice in another town where no one knows me, and if I say something dumb, stutter, etc, then it doesn't matter. IF you do fck up, then laugh it off and don't give a fck. It's no big deal - you still get to live.

But, for guys who are nervous, keep at it. I'm starting to come out of my shell and am gaining confidence in public.

Failure is the best teacher.
