I can only speak re life in the UK. I was unemployed for a year, and the Job Centre did everything to kick you off benefits. The most common was so-called sanctions. I received two during that period for the most trivial shit you can imagine. In the end I just gave up and went it alone. For the average guy looking for work, be prepared for the zero hour contracts, having to deal with recruitment agencies who may or may not give you any work. Personally for me, it's quite difficult (mid 40s). I also see it with other single guys out there, and social proof is quite powerful and can open doors re work, women, etc. When you join groups, esp when they're in a similar age bracket, people will sense that you're single and if they're all in a LTR, then it's quite difficult to forge any type of relationship with these types (I suppose they think there's something wrong with you). But, the one think I've noticed in my latter years are health issues, and the rapidly declining (or virtually non-existent healthcare system). I've had to run a business pretty much to pay for private healthcare, as my usual doctors failed me in my time of need. Check that your oestrogen isn't high, or is increasing as T is being aromatased into E2 (which is worse!). Some foods contain high amounts of E, i.e. chickpeas, flaxseed, beans, peas, soy, etc. If you're fat, then shift it! Fat contains loads of E, too. Also check your SHBG. Too high, and your T is bound up and not utilized by your body. Read: The Testosterone Syndrome, by Shippen.
