From the experience of a college friend who had 3 kids in English hospitals I thought it might be that a fetal heart rate monitor is considered too expensive to be worthwhile, and the fact that the anesthesiologist who does epidurals is only on call every other day. That and the overflowing sewage from the ancient toilets seeping through the floor into the maternity ward below.

We're not- most of us don't know squat about UK maternity services. What're the problems it has, and what makes you say misogyny is the issue?
