Everything here was supposed to disappear. Banned subreddits, deleted communities, cancelled blogs — much of what is archived here survives nowhere else.

It stays free — no paywall, no account — for the next man who comes looking, the way it was free for you.

The petitioner got the number of victims wrong, the gender mix of the victims wrong and the general status of the omega loser shooter among MRMs wrong.

So in other words, a nearly perfect example of the intellect behind the average White House petition.

Rodger is being celebrated as a martyr and hero by the movement, which will likely cause other MRAs to emulate his crimes.

Flatout perjury.

You underestimate these people's talent for quote mining.

Cherry picking whatever fits your agenda in an attempt to misrepresent something inherently undermines the credibility of whomever engages in such intellectual espionage. EG: the entire bluepill subreddit finds outliers, misinterprets metaphors on purpose and draws a big arrow on anything ever said by any person in anger in TRP and holds that up as a normative representation of the entire groups views (because their minds are made up TRP is bad and they need to reinforce this worldview by cherry picking), advertising on the other hand takes all the best points of something, exaggerates them and then highlights this representation as the norm of the product. Both are idealistic tangents removed from the totality of reality. One ignores the good in something (TBP), the other ignores the bad in something (advertising), both are forms of misrepresentation via cherry picking to serve an agenda.

Some trivia: misrepresentation in contract law is a vitiating factor which voids the contract. It's a shame cherry picking things rather than engaging with them holistically and critically doesn't equally void public opinion. It's very easy to take one aspect of something, amplify it, and run with it. It's what all stupid and/or fearful people do because intellectualising and taking the time to fully understand something is either beyond their comprehension/personal ability or simply beyond one's desire or patience to do so.

Addendum: Close-minded people willfully misinterpret things in order not to undermine themselves, this is where pride can become an extremely limiting factor, accepting one's own interpretations of something are illogical or otherwise incongruent with the idea as it presents itself/was intended to be interpreted/or is accepted by the majority of people who align with such a group can be quite devastating due to the harm to one's pride. Thus some people will seem to never understand something, because to actually understand it would cause them to accept they were wrong all along. They'd rather think they are right than admit their ignorance, even to themselves. Small people massage their egos at the expense of everyone elses tolerance and expect to be taken seriously. I ignore such people. Validating bullshit only makes it grow.

As evidenced here: http://redditlog.com/snapshots/624229

Massive cherry picking.

Perjury is only under oath. These are politicians and whiners.

The truth, or even simple accuracy, is anathema to them.

Perjury is only under oath.

In the definitive of the word, yes, of course I mean informally, so call it defamatory if you will.

It's also called Libel.

'Research' no doubt provided by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The Suffragettes, whose success in attaining the vote for women is commonly claimed as a feminist victory, were notable terrorists. They burned down buildings and even tried to kill public officials who tried to bring them to justice.

http://historyoffeminism.com/tag/suffragette-terrorism/

And that doesn't even reflect the actions of more recent feminists towards people they disagree with like the bomb threat called into Erin Pizzey's daughter's wedding and the killing of her dog just because she pointed out that women commit domestic violence against men as often as men do so against women.

Ironic that feminists would try so hard to link lone gunmen to the men's rights movement in an effort to paint them as a "terrorist organization" when feminists appear to feel justified in committing actual acts of terrorism in an attempt to further their ideological goals.

I kinda want to see them reach their 100,000 to see what happens.

[–]Aalewis__ 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing ever comes out of white house petitions so don't get your hopes up.

[–]Piroko 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Which is exactly why I want to see them get that 100,000, so they get their act of inaction.

Schadenfreude, look it up.

Those crazy terrorists disrupting college seminars by angry bitchy protests and pulling fire alarms, harassing people that want to attend...

Oh wait that was feminists...
