I'm in a predicament here and I need advice. I'm in University, studying to become a social worker. Now I've been wanting to do this since high school, now I'm kind of conflicted.

I have a couple classes that really focus on feminist ideologies such as the pay gap, white privlege, male privlege etc etc. A lot (but not all) of the degree touches upon it in some way or another. As we all know, a lot of this is skewed and just straight up BS in some cases.

I'm a male. I used to be hardcore redpill and a typical neo-con, however I've calmed down recently. I tend to reject the extremes of both sides of the ideologies as there's positives and negatives in both.

It's really bugging me that I'll have to deal with this stuff throughout the remainder of the degree. I enjoy helping people, specifically marginalized/poor youth as that's where my interests are in. I've already invested money into it so dropping out would be pretty bad.

I stumbled across this quote from law 38 of "The 48 Laws of Power". It goes "Think As You Like But Behave Like Others

If you make a show of going against the times, flaunting your unconventional ideas and unorthodox ways, people will think that you only want attention and that you look down upon them. They will find a way to punish you for making them feel inferior. It is far safer to blend in and nurture the common touch. Share your originality only with tolerant friends and those who are sure to appreciate your uniqueness.”

It makes sense, but I imagine that it's easier said than done to apply it in real life. Has anybody ever experienced this sort of thing and how did you get through it in school/work?
