It’s less about being able to stop being afraid, and more about feeling the fear and doing it anyways. Is it scarier? Sure. Will you not think of things to say? You might. However, being able to confront that fear and go for it anyways is what will offer the most potential growth in each and every approach.

Confidence comes from a series of successful experiences. Ya have to go out there and have the experiences! Some dates will suck. Some will be so-so. Some will be great. But the thing is, never let the blah ones touch you. I always used to say, "Whistle the theme song to Raiders of the Lost Ark on the way back to your car."

Recently George St. Pierre was on the JRE. And he said not having confidence is like having all your money in the bank, but not having a card to spend it. When you are working on yourself you are “earning your money” but without confidence it’s not worth anything since you cannot access it. You are aware of your lack of confidence which is good now you need to take control of it. I’m sure you can think of examples in your life where people you didn’t think were the smartest achieved a lot because they simply just acted and weren’t thinking of what could go wrong. That alone shows the power of action. Few people have the confidence and the life assets to back it up. Every-time you’re stuck just remember that feeling of embarrassment is temporary and you will remember the times you chickened out for the rest of your life. Life is temporary so go live.
