To me, SMV, your Sexual Market Value, is basically a big market where everyone is trying to buy and sell using their value. Women's values are mainly their looks, but for men it is much more complex what makes up our SMV

For the most part you're right. Women's SMV is primarily based on appearance. But...great looks don't automatically justify a high SMV for a woman. At first glance, yes it does, but let's say the woman has STDs. Yep, not gonna be a very high SMV then huh. So yes, looks matter initially, but they are not the be all end all for women. Unless you only plan on meeting them and having sex with them and not investing in them whatsoever, then in that case only physical appearance/health would make up her SMV.

For men, SMV is more diversified luckily. Looks, status, and game are the biggest factors I can think of as far as men's SMV goes (and those are not in order). There may be more but these three are definitely the most of a male's SMV.

Looks are important. You don't have to be Brad Pitt/male model, but you need to work on your fitness/health, and clean up well aka dress well, get a haircut, don't look scraggly, smell clean, etc.
Status is huge for men's SMV. If a woman sees you as a leader of men, and wanted by women, she will instantly feel attraction to you. For example, a high status male would be Donald Trump. He's not very attractive at all, but he is all over the news and is a very powerful man, financially. Ergo, look at his wife. Hot. Albeit, she has resting bitch face, but that's dismissable.
Finally, game. What you lack in looks and status can be made up for with good game. And of course, if you have the looks and the status, then good game will just make you a slayer of women. Game consists of so many things, but it can be broken into two concepts: Inner game and Outer Game.

Inner game is confidence and high self-esteem. Believe in yourself. Feel good about you and be comfortable being alone. Read the sidebar for more info.

Outer game is the ability to interact with women. There are also many ways of skinning this cat, per se, but the sidebar can also help. Touch her, read body language, eye contact, flirt, escalate, tease, etc.

To improve your SMV: Workout, read the sidebar, go out and do fun things/meet people. Become confident by being alone and then use that confidence around others. I'm sure other posters here will help tell you how to improve as well.

Money has almost nothing to do with SMV. Yes, you need to be financially self-sufficient enough to pay your bills and afford decent gear. But no woman flicks her bean thinking about a man's bank account. Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks, remember?

As Rollo says: Game, Looks, Status. Have two. If you can only have one, choose game.

Game is your behavior. Looks are facial features, body, style, etc. (anything physical). Status is not just your friends and the number of friends you have. Its whether people defer to you, look to you for advice, whether you can get into the cool club, etc.

Status is the least important. Its fungible and varies widely depending on your location and the girl in question. Say I'm a high-powered Wall Street broker. I wear nice suits, listen to high brow classical music, and am very well-read. For a high society woman in her late twenties or early thirties with a doctorate, I'm as high status as it gets. To a 21-year old party-girl club chick, I'm the biggest dork on the face of the Earth status-wise.
