Possibilities of trolling aside, this is likely more due to the fact that men are significantly less likely to seek medical help or attend their regular physicals, thus many things either go unreported or are not properly prevented.

I haven't done enough research to say, but I listened to a radio program on this particular headline recently, and I'm a paramedic who has seen hundreds of both women and men who called 911 for cardiac symptoms. The main reason this article states that they're under-represented is because women don't often complain of the typical chest pain that men do. Instead they describe it predominantly as "chest discomfort". For this reason some people, mostly the women themselves, do not recognize that they may be having a heart attack because they are not displaying the symptoms that we talk about which commonly occur in men. As a result, they are often delayed in seeking medical attention, and not taken seriously when they do according to the radio show. In my experience both genders are treated equally urgently as it is in our treatment guidelines to recognize this difference in presentation.

Do you have a source for men being underrepresented? Symptoms are different in women and the presentation is not as well-understood, so yes, there does need to be more research into the gender differences.
