This is my first post on this sub so yeah.

So I go to a pretty liberal school in Pennsylvania and for the next six weeks they are spending a week on different issues they believe need awareness brought to them. This week is sexual assault.

Now don't get me wrong, I definitely think sexual assault is a horrible thing that needs to be cracked down on, for both women and men. However, I was walking back from class this morning when I saw quite literally, over 1,000 little red flags (the kind used to mark electrical wires in the ground) in the ground around the entrance to our main building.

There is a sign next to these flags that states "1 in 5 college women are sexually assaulted. These flags represent the 1582 female students on our campus that this statistic represents."

Now as I'm sure most of you are aware how much of a bullshit statistic that is. Here is an artical that goes over it in detail.

Basically a non representative sample was taken and generalized to all schools in the country. I feel like I should talk to the head of the organization in charge of the sexual assault awareness and make them more aware of the false information they are spreading. (Also as to why they have no statistics on men who are assaulted.) But knowing my school I'll probably be labeled as some sort of freak who supports rape or some shit like that.

What do you guys think I should do?
