I am confused essentially about this idea. On a fundamental level it is our upbringing that teaches us to treat others how we want to be treated, to show compassion and respect to others, and to treat everyone equally (this is about women) but is this a farce to some to degree when it comes specifically to female nature?
My question comes from my inability to dump my girlfriend. She has been really good to me for the most part, we have had our disagreements, but I would go out on a limb to say that she is my best friend in some ways. The problem is I've been with her a year and a half, and at about 1.3 months in I had a car accident. At this point this is when I decide to try to be a "better" boyfriend.
Before this time I did what I wanted, kept her at arms length, made all the decisions, had sex almost every night blowjobs in the morning at some points, and sometimes I would lose interest because it was too frequent, and I would try to dump her. I spent most of the relationship trying to dump her precisely because it starts getting too complicated, and at this point in my life I cant handle something like that. She's a bit of a pill and displays a good amount of red flags, enough so I know its a stupid proposition to pursue an LTR according to TRP literature.
She's stayed this entire time (she has issues with that), shes older and kind of a cat lady so to speak, she's 39, but she used to be very attractive and still is.
I guess my question is a two-parter. 1) Do all women have ulterior motives? Can you ever REALLY trust them, I mean is it ever really possible to do that. I've been on TRP for awhile and in general one trend is that people lie, so people mask their motives. She obviously likes me, but she won't leave and its generated a lot of questions as to why. I can clearly see she is miserable at this point, the sex has slowed down and I sort of lost control, but not attraction. But, we are both miserable and I can tell. So, is she keeping me around out of fear? Maybe things will turn around and go back to the way they were? Or is it something more sinister?
The idea is at this point what should I expect and what should I look out for because I cant seem to figure out if I need to be concerned (she's cheating or planning on it).
Also, should you always place nature over morals to some degree, or is it just an acute awareness of dynamics that keeps you from losing power?
