Seriously. That's just bizarre. And also:

When your SO asks you what you think, you need to be straightforward rather than saying "yes" when you want to say "no". That's just asking for a situation filled with bitterness and passive-aggressiveness.

I personally would have a problem with this. If she doesn't have enough pride (and I totally agree with you there) that's fine for her, but I wouldn't be ok with an ex having access to go through your stuff whenever they feel like it. The only thing I would have done differently would be to be honest and up front when he asked you you're opinion, it seems as though you just gave him the answer you thought he wanted to hear.

She gets her child support, that's all she's getting. Your husband has no further obligation to her outside of that. She'll be expecting more money, more hours from him etc because she is entitled and expects him to support her. She is willing to degrade herself by cleaning her exes new girlfriends toilet, she has no pride and will have no problem asking for money.
