Plan your day - Set out exactly what you plan to achieve for the day and what you want out of each team member.
Articulate yourself well - Make sure your instructions are clear and do-able, dispense instructions.
Always Follow Up - They will perform aswell as they're being checked on. Set tasks, follow up on tasks.
Lead By Example - Your staff will operate at the level of their leader, set the bar high and they'll follow
Listen to your team - Know what their concerns or sore points are and do what you can so long as they're reasonable. Happy Employees work harder.
Be firm/Don't take shit - When they step out of line, take firm action. They'll stretch the boundaries as far as you'll allow it.
Build Rapport - Get to know them, make them part of team, make them feel close, but keep enough distance so that you don't blurr the lines between invested manager and friend.
Let them know what they're working for - Give them targets, goals, both personal and company.
Help them achieve those goals - Be available to assists and explain when needed.
Appearances are everything - Don't let your guard down.
