You fucked up the first time by being cold when she initiated a hug and asked how you were doing. What she was doing was checking: is this a real high-value male, or is this a needy beta? Is he going to be butt-hurt because I cancelled plans? Is he so needy that I have to worry that he's already caught feelings for me even though we haven't even dated yet? Is this a self-validating man, or am I going to have to feel responsible for his feelings?

Your cold reaction communicated that she hurt your feelings when she cancelled plans to go out with you. This is a big red flag to a woman, because the last thing she wants is to be responsible for a guy's feelings.

How would a high-value male, who is completely grounded in his own reality, have reacted? He would have given her a big hug, looked her in the eye, and smiled warmly. He would have spent a few moments catching up with her, speaking to her as he would a close friend, then excused himself because he has to go. He would've given her another hug as he turns to leave, and with a smile: "We should grab a drink sometime. I'll text you." And gone about his business.

Just look at this as a learning opportunity. You failed the test, and there is no real way for you to regain frame with this chick (not yet anyways). Your best bet is to learn from it, learn how to change your behavior to communicate higher value, and apply it to future prospects. But you should put this chick out of your mind until you've bagged a few more.
