Listen, it's not fair or right, but you need to learn to pick your fucking battles. You just turned this professor into someone who doesn't like you. Keep it up and she may become an enemy, or it may even become something that sticks on your academic record (disrupting class, disrespect of faculty, etc.)

To "keep frame"? For what purpose? Because some middle aged shrew decided she prefers Professor to Mrs.? So what. Give her what she wants and shut the fuck up. Check your ego at the door.

If I were you, I would go and see this professor in her office between classes sometimes, apologize to her without trying to make any excuses, and let her know that you look forward to learning from her. Smooth things over and then be a model student who pulls down good grades.

I'm not just preaching here. I fuck this up too. It's easy to do when you are a masculine guy walking around in this feminized cucktopia.

I was at work a few weeks ago, and some office hag challenged me at a doorway to badge in. Without really thinking about it I treated her like I treat most women. I just grinned at her, and said "oh yeah?" in this sort of snarky voice, and walked through the open door without badging.

Turns out she is the Exec. Assistant to the new CIO for my entire division. Oops. My Manager and Director both got nastygrams, and I was pulled into a 1:1 with my direct report. My job is fine and both of my superiors are guys so all is well..

But the point is, it was not fucking worth it. You have GOT to learn when to shut up. If you don't, it will cost you a lot of opportunities in life, and cause way more problems than are strictly necessary.

Standing up for yourself is good. Being the asshole that doesn't have the first clue about how to handle authority figures or integrate into existing hierarchies will leave you ostracized and weak.

I would contact the academic chair in charge of that department.

Colleges have somewhere picked up this annoying tendency to forget that they are the provider of a consumer good. You are the customer. You are paying them. It's not the other way around. I had an issue with my psychology professor not knowing how to use Microsoft Word. She was literally too lazy to change the fucking display size of a paper. (My monitor was apparently higher resolution than hers.)

I would confront her about her actions privately and tell her that you expect an apology that is just as vocal and public as the way she embarrassed you. If you do not get it you will make a formal complaint to the college and continue complaining as you move up the chain of command until she is disciplined.

I would also inform her that your papers and deliverables will be graded by another member of the department until the end of your term because she cannot be trusted to avoid retaliatory grading.

You are paying her salary with your tuition. You have the right to be treated with respect as a paying customer. If you would not accept that bullshit from a server at Denny's, you shouldn't take it from a professor in your English class.

Lol what kind of professor is this? I've had professors where the guy is in his early thirties and walks in and goes "Hey i'm Mike how's everyone doing? We're gonna talk about personal investing and how to be rich when you're old and saggy." A lot of professors are really cool because they went through the same shit in college so they understand. She just sounds old.

Granted I have one professor now who's in his 70's and prohibits electronics which means no labtops so I handwrite my notes instead of typing. He flips his lid if he sees a phone and wants to take it away from you. This isn't highschool. We're adults.
