If it's not working for you it's because you're not actually confident. You probably have a fake confidence that gives off a weird vibe that isn't attractive to women. Work on yourself and gain true confidence. Your ego will dip into the area where it needs to be.

The 2 things you need:

REALISTIC assessment of the world and people in it, the women in this case in focus

then RESPECT, so you show respect to others while also looking out for yourself, cutting it off appropriately for those who are disrespectful

Do this and a big ego simply becomes a big personality and lots of social people actually like that and look to that kind of person as a social leader, unless you're out-cast level stupid on top of it so don't be. Otherwise then you have a career in stand-up comedy.
