Tell your parents straight up that you've been punked enough by other people growing up and you've had it with that shit. Tell them they're downright irrational and backwards in their thinking If they want you to stop improving your health. Point to your dad and tell them you don't want to look like that when you get to his age. If you don't have a job by now, get one and buy your own eggs.

Same reasoning as to why that girl who friend zoned u is gonna tell u not to change: theyve put u into their mental box as the harmless baby, or in parents cases: you were their actual baby and helpless child for years. Its hard for them to see differently. once youre completely independent and competent, they should come around but some never do. Despite what a lot of comments here say, they're not intentionally out to get you like some vicious girls may be, but theyve been your provider and protector for years that its hard for them to see u grow up. Unless of course you have completely narcissistic parents

It's something to be expected. When your progress gets too real, everybody except for your 1-2 true friends in life will be subtly against it. Same when you start making serious money too, for example. Anything where you soar above the average will trigger it.

Nothing personal, they're reacting that way automatically. Because your obvious progress is making them look bad.

Try to hold to a cocky/teasy frame even with parents, where you can. "Mom, don't make me fry my eggs at Stacy's house, you know what she's like will prolly get pregnant after a few eggs. Love you mom, step aside, men at work men at work."

You will quickly lose if you start trying to logically make your case, or assume a martyr position trying to point out how good this thing you're doing is, and how no one supports you. Fuck that. Be THE bigger man, in every sense. Mom will putter, but in the end she'll only love you more for it, she can't help it.

You know what's best for you. Keep on doing it. Lifting in general helps in improving other aspects of you life too, including increased confidence and attractiveness.

Since you are just 19, this is a very simple objection to something that is very important to you. There will be various situations in life where the objections are going to be super strong and you may not have an option of removing yourself from in it.

I can relate. My mother was afraid "that I would get hurt" and complained "the weights I lift are so heavy, she couldn't move them". My father is a naturally beefy guy and is disinterested in exercise and sports. He says nothing but does not support.

I kept going. Eventually my motrher liked that I looked better than other men when we were at the beach. Also she was proud that I would get more looks from girls. So she started to like that I lift.
