Get snapchat.

Never send a pic unless you are sent one first. If it's not a question or a sexual snap, don't reply. Don't look at snaps straight away, don't you have anything better to do with your time? And don't reply straight away (duh).

Don't look at anyone's story.

Don't post a story pic unless it fits the criteria for a dating site pic (see /u/omlala guides for advice on what makes a good pic). If the picture doesn't make people go "I wish I was doing that", it's probably shit and validation seeking.

Snapchat is a great tool for rekindling flames that you thought had gone out (also for girls that didn't reply to you last time you txtd, now she sees your story, so you aren't double texting her, and she will consider messaging you again) . Typically because a plate dropped you for temporary exclusivity with someone then they broke up. She sees your story (that's actually good) and sends you a message, you take initiative and you get your old plate back with no effort.

I dunno I use it, its not bad. I check out my bros stories and shit. I'll make a story if I'm at a party or doing something fun. I'm 27 and I find younger chicks around 18-22 use it to set up hookups after parties. Don't be the guy who constantly looks at stories and constantly posts dumb shit though.

Social media is where everyone peacocks. They show the best of themselves to create admiration and envy. Progress pics are perfectly acceptable, as long as you've got something to show off.

Get Snapchat. Use it. But don't get drawn in by it. Remember the flaws, and remember how easy it is for girls to find thirsty guys on social media.

No, I don't. I am your age as well and it is quite funny to see guys taking selfies by themselves to post on snapchat.

Rule of thumb: if the masses are doing it, try to avoid it as much as possible.
