I've had this experience, but the self-confidence I gained from freeing myself from the slavery of nicotine trumped the ice-breaking ability it had. I felt if I could get myself to quit, I could do anything.

Smoking also fucked with my working out, I noticed I wasn't getting the same dopamine rush from working out while smoking.

Not to be that guy, but quit while you can.

Edit: However If you decide to maintain your habit, learn to use it for something. A lot of girls do find it attractive.

I'll sometimes smoke for appearance. I never actually inhale the smoke - the chicks are too drunk to notice anyway.

It's a useful tool.

Back in our grandparents' time when people really got married around age 20, everyone smoked, at least every guy did.

Smoking occasionally for a specific purpose has a very low risk of causing lung cancer much later. And look, in your 20's, your job in life is to hook up and do stuff with the opposite sex. It's important.
