It's a shit test. Happened to me so often in the beginning I had to wise up fast. Girls do this when they want to see if she can just put you into orbit and keep you there for her use, with minimum hassle.

A date is 1:1 with very few rare exceptions (accidentally ran into your awesome old friends while out and your date is amazed at all the high status fun people you know, etc.) You cannot allow it, or you're going to be miserable, the date will end in a big fat NOTHING, maybe you get a grandma hug if you're lucky.

This is one of those situations where coming off as a massive dick is actually to your advantage. Think of the dickiest thing you could fucking destroy that dumbfuck idea of hers with, and boldly text her that. Vaginas gonna tingle.

I say subtly flirt with her friend and talk to the friend more. Let it backfire in her face. Just pretend to enjoy the friend's company more than your date, make a few flirtatious jokes heavy eye contact and smiling and it should work.

You have three possibilities , you may get her friend, you may get her jealous, or you may get both of them. Theres also the possibility if you do it wrong , theyll just look at you like an asshole.

You've 'hooked up' multiple times, but haven't had sex. NOW, she wants to bring her friend with her to a date?

This lets her know your intentions and gives her zero wiggle room to negotiate. You're telling her "no", and most cute girls aren't used to hearing that from a guy. If she backpedals and agrees to see you alone, tease her a bit and make her work for it. If she says "whatever" and drops it, you know she was playing you for a sucker.

It could be one of two things - either she's trying to get her friend some freebies and use you as beta bux like /u/rebuildingMyself said, or she's getting the herd's opinion by having one of her friends scope you out. Either way, this is bad news. You don't want to be entertaining BOTH of them, and you don't want to worry about impressing her friend or having her sabotage your efforts with a bad review.

The standard response to this is NO. If you show up at a date and she brings a friend along without telling you, then you quickly find someplace you have to be all of a sudden. Don't be drawn into their manipulations. Stand your ground, get what you want, or move on to somebody else who can give you what you want.
