Not sure if this is the most appropriate subreddit for this question but I wanted a male perspective and /r/seduction didn't seem appropriate. So I signed up for a "muslim dating" website a little while back as I've been looking to get into a more serious relationship. The women on the website are for the most part religious, career oriented and serious about settling down, all good qualities for LTRs IMO and qualities which I share. Matched up with a few of them but seemed to really hit it off with one in particular. We're quite similar in a lot of ways, including the fact that we take certain aspects of our religion seriously (no premarital sex) and others not so seriously (no alcohol). (She was the one who brought these things up so I don't really have a reason to doubt her). I would even say our attractiveness levels are about equal, with me maybe even being a little bit higher, being as objective as you can about something like that.
Anyways, we've been texting back and forth for a while and things seemed to be going well, with both parties seemingly interested. The last time we texted, on monday, she said she would call me wednesday after handing in a research proposal. She never did call however. Like I said before, the girls on the site are nerdy and not the kind to simply forget and we all know if a girl is really into a guy she would never flake, especially not without some kind of preemptive apology. Add to this the fact that I could see that she had logged into the dating website all throughout the day. Right before bed I texted her and she gives me the whole "omg i was so busy" and that she would def call tomorrow and she seemed sorta apologetic but not really (her: "sorry?"). One thing that sucks about texting though is the room for misunderstandings (this Key & Peele sketch comes to mind lol). She tried making conversation after that but I kinda cut it short by saying I was tired and going to bed. The whole thing has left a kind of bad taste in my mouth, especially after I thought things were going so well.
There's no way she actually forgot, even with how busy she claimed to be, so I'm thinking she may not really be that interested and is keeping me around as a second option, or that this was her way of playing some kind of text game to gauge my interest. Your thoughts? If it's the former, I feel like I should just next her. I'm wondering if I should just not pick up the phone today or make it clear that I won't put up with her flakiness if it happens again. Basically, should I give her a chance and see if things still progress or just cut my losses and move on?
