Quick story, and let me know if I caught the ques that this girl is interested. I think she is by how she responded.
I met a girl at a mutual friends birthday 2 weeks ago. I found that my friend was more or less 'setting us up' by having us encounter one another (this birthday party was at a kid friendly place)
I was sitting at a kids table with the kids, and this girl was standing about 5 feet away. I had never met her before and was unsure of who she was. My friend says 'Jessica, this is Dave...." and as I stood up, she smiled and extended her hand for a handshake, then she repeated her name, and said "nice to meet you" literally all at once. It was a fairly busy party, being at a kid friendly place (no it wasn't chucky cheese) we didn't really get to talk much. We stole glances however, and I noticed the way she was sitting at a table right next to mine, her knees almost never stop pointing directly at me. She was almost facing me the entire time. I didn't acknowledge her much at all because I wasn't really there for her, I was there for my friend.
Party stuff happens, kids play, I go walk around with my 6 year old. We get ready to leave, I go find the party, find my friend and mention that we were leaving. Instantly, here is this girl, smiling, facing me, almost like she was waiting for me to finish talking so she could talk to my friend. I finish, and she talks to me first. She said 'It was nice meeting you', giant smile on her face, she talks to my kid for a bit and tells me 'I can tell she's really smart!" she tells me good bye and we leave. Almost no interaction at all.
2 days later my bud calls me to tell me his wife (the one whos idea it was for us to meet) got a call from J, and he told me "J said she thought you were cute. She wants us to get together" etc etc, and we are supposed to go out this next weekend. He asked me what I thought of her. I knew not to tell anything to anyone, to essentially hold frame/refrain from compliments as if I was talking to HER directly, because I know anything I said would get back to her. I simply said "She seemed like a nice girl. I didn't get a chance to talk to her much though." my buddy said "So...are you interested in getting together with her?" and I said "Yeah, that would be fine."
I hate group dates, I don't believe in them until you're a couple, but what Im after is the 'social proof' of this girl knowing the people I know. I knew everyone at the birthday party she knew and more.
So what I'm gathering here is she is interested by how quickly she introduced herself (after my friend introduced her) she extended her hand for a shake (I almost never shake hands with anyone), she spoke to me first, she said "it was nice meeting you" first, and she called my buds wife to talk about me. Good signs I'm sure.
Any advice on this if any, of if I'm on the right track, let me know. I'm going to try at some point to end the group date as early as possible, get this girls number so I can go at it on my own, and leave her wanting more of me.
Also, I just noticed tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of me finding the red pill, and other self improvement/pick up info. I've literally had zero bad days in a year. Before that I was always pissed off that I couldn't figure women out. Regardless of what I wrote above, the old me wouldn't have even considered anything positive, that it was all 'coincidence' she was nice, that I didn't deserve to have a decent girl etc.
