A few years ago I was a broke-ass roofer making 10 bucks an hour and had just been dumped by my fiance, then had to go to court with my ex over our daughter. I had been sick with oneitis and turned beta, so she kicked me to the curb to ride the carousel. After we split I started not taking her shit and finding myself again, and much to my amusement, about 6 months later she tried to get me back. Nope!

Anyway, fast forward a few years. I've been working hard to get my shit together. I'm wiser and more emotionally mature/hardened. I've put myself through college(finished 6 months ago), have a decent paying job, been raising my kid, I drive a nice car, have a good circle of friends, planning on buying a house this year, and I'm laying groundwork to start my own business.

The caveat to all of this improvement is that I've had to make some major sacrifices, the main one being that I've been renting a room from my dad to save money (I'm 28) in order to be able to make all this happen. Living with my dad again has been a HUGE hit to my confidence, completely killed my (home) sex life, and been very stressful.

Not to say I have no game though. I have had some really nice plates even despite my living situation. I just hard nexted an LTR 6 months ago and have been in monk mode ever since, trying to stay super focused on accomplishing my goals. Finding new plates is money/time/energy I just haven't had, not to mention my confidence is in the toilet because I can't bring them home.

My question, now that you know my story and situation, is whether or not you ever feel like you're in limbo. This process of improving will pay off in the long run, but it's been a hell of a struggle. Monk mode sucks but keeps me motivated. Living broke and under the thumb of someone else sucks but keeps me motivated. I'm just at the point where I feel like I'm hamstering about my goals and like I'll never get there even though I'm actively pushing forward.

Anyone have advice or commentary?
