If you like singing, just own it. As long as you are confident about it and continue to not give a fuck I don't think it can be perceived as beta. Especially if you're good at it.

To reiterate what AlphaAsFAQ said, though, I think it can be pretty beta if you do it in a beta situation. Definitely don't do it as an apology or a sappy romantic gesture or something like that. I would also avoid doing it on command if a girl asks you to sing for her or something. Not saying you can't sing to a girl, but keep it clear that it's your thing that you do for you.

I can't imagine that the genre of music really matters. I've gone on dates and just listened to death metal the whole time in the car because that's what I like sometimes. Even if they hate it, it makes for a fun conversation as long as you own it. I've listened sappy indie music and shit too. Just whatever I feel like. If I ride with someone else I expect them to listen to whatever they enjoy and I don't really judge them for it.

Generally, I think compromising your interests out of insecurity is a lot more beta than any kind of interest you could have itself.

I think if anything, singing beta lyrics is an advantage - it speaks to the hamster mind that wants security, stability, commitment, and all things beta, and still allows your real presence to be strong and commanding, thus solving the paradox of her desires.
