Hello, I'll start from the beginning.
I met a girl online, talked to her for a few days, then got her number and Facebook etc. Initially, I thought she was alright looking and that I was going down. Fast forward a few days later and everything is humming along alright, texting a lot, snapchatting, all that stupid stuff. I figured the snapchatting would be beneficial since she the camera angles on her profile could have been handpicked and 'not natural'. The same could go for me.
Anyway, come Friday night I throw the question of hanging out it ends up tonight is the only night she can. Alright, sure. I haven't slept much and I'm tired as hell. tl;dr I wasn't at my best. I dressed pretty well for the occasion, which was eating food and going back to her place to watch a movie.
I find her house and I end up meeting her parents who think I am a friend of a friend or something strange. I think I impressed them pretty well. She met me at the door and her parents were right there. Going in her house, I could tell her parents definitely made a six-figure, maybe seven-figure income. I knew this from the beginning since she lived in a prominent area.
The whole thing was extremely awkward but I played it off well I think. She took her car because I had no idea where anything was (possibly beta) and I decide on pizza since we're both indecisive and wanted to get over the awkward part. The entire time I'm pretty much rambling and make alright jokes, trying to lighten things up. I forgot my wallet in my car so that's a huge major fuck up #1.
We talk a bit about our lives, but I wasn't really satisfied or interested really. I made a joke about her being rich and spoiled but nothing too far. We finish our food and I'm still thinking: she is either really shy or doesn't like me. No matter my best attempts at breaking the ice it still doesn't work. I felt like I talked about myself too much. We finish up, go to the store and get some candy/food that I wasn't even hungry for. She was so indecisive and just kept saying I don't know etc. She bought it so whatever and didn't really seem put off (she's rich so eh.)
I definitely made it clear in the car ride back to her house I wasn't looking for a 'friend', even namedropped the word girlfriend. Anyway, we get back to her place (which is amazing) and pick some really, really bad movie. We sit on the couch and she asks if I want some of the blanket. At this point, I've known her for all about 30 minutes and it's still fucking awkward as fuck. I just was NOT getting the vibes to put my arm around her at all. I was pretty close to her and we shared some of the candy and stuff and I talked ALOT about stupid stuff in the movie. Still getting non-good vibes and then it's time for me to leave. Leaving is totally fucking awkward and rushed, I'm at her door and I think I asked her something like: 'So... do you hate me or what?' and I get some really unconvincing answer. I break it with a laugh and say something along the lines of hanging out again and she says 'Yes', still unconvinced, say goodbye and drive home and don't even get a text. She said she had a good time at the door too, but it was very, unconvincing. The whole thing didn't even warrant a fucking hug.
The entire thing felt rushed, awkward, and she is either really damn shy or doesn't like me. Fast forward to today, I check my phone and there is something along the lines of I'm glad you got home safe etc. and something else. Cue some more small talk and I tell her I talk about myself too much and I want to hear more about her. Then her comes the big one: 'Hey I had fun last night, but I just want to be friends, for'
Instantly I reply, 'The hell do you mean by 'just friends, for now'? Part of me wants to say I shouldn't even said that but I was so damn angry at that point. She texts back, word for word, "I just want to be friends. I really liked hanging out with you. What I mean is I'm not sure how I feel so I just wanna be friends for now. And we can get to know each other better".
Immediately after that I ripped out the battery and threw my phone across the room. I haven't responded to her yet and I don't plan to. Any advice brothers?
Personally, I would be dating upwards with her. But the vibes were just either not their or really awkward, indicating she probably didn't like me. Thanks for your help. It's been a long time since I've dated.
