So, this is whats happening:

I've been spending time with a girl who works with me. I like her, obviously. We've gone out a couple of times, had a great evening, and we usually sneak out of work to chat for a few minutes. We tease each other, and there are a lot of "signals" and "flirting", but that's all so subjective that i'm not really sure. Does she like me? Who can tell? I'm not in the "friend zone", that's for sure, because a "friend" would not do this.

The thing is. There was a company dinner party the other day to which I didnt feel like going, but this girl just kept asking me to go, so I decided to go. Then, when I'm there, she talked to me like for about 2 minutes or less all evening. I made a joke or two when we bumped into each other in the party, but she just kept it short and went on her way. It was sincerely weird since i've never, ever seen her like this. At the end I just stayed with some friends for a while, and when they left, so did I. I didn't even say goodbye to her. Why? I have no idea. I guess I felt disappointed, angry, confused, and not all that well physically (i was coming down with a cold) so I just said "fuck it", you know? If this is how you want it, then fuck it.

To state it clearly: I like her, of course I do. Everything's been fine until now. We've made plans, had a great time, we talk a lot, etc. We've even made future plans of things that we could do together because we just have a blast when we're together. This was the first time something this strange happened, and i'm not sure how to confront it or interpret it.

All of this said, I sincerely don't care if at the end she just wants to be friends, or if I decide its better that way. I like her most of all as a person. Im not going to lie and say I dont like her as a woman. I do, but if I would be fine just being friends because I have fun with her. That's it, plain and simple.

But why on earth did I get this feeling she was avoiding and ignoring me at this party? Do you guys have any experience with this? I thought about contacting her and asking her what happened, but I dont feel comfortable with the idea at the moment. A part of me just wants to know what's wrong and communicate like two adult human beings, but another part of me just feels disappointed and angry at her behaviour.

QUESTION UPDATE: Anyone interested in knowing how the story develops? Should I post it?
